Veteran Programme Resident 2026
After demobilisation from the military, Sarnatska created two shows on Hromadske Radio featuring veterans and active service members, and is currently hosting a new original project on Kyiv FM radio. She has also defended her dissertation on preventing gender-based violence. In 2024–2025, her plays won three Ukrainian playwriting competitions and two international ones, and were staged in theatres.
Sarnatska was a resident at the Theatre of Playwrights and published her first book, Who United Love and Courage. Her experience of war is part of a broader reality that must be documented, rethought, and made visible.
“Within the framework of the Veterans’ Fellowship, I want to realise a theatrical project about finding a common language — one that brings together different experiences. It will be a performance about strength and overcoming fear. The fellowship will also support my work on the radio: I host an author-led programme about veterans and people who bring victory closer in different ways, as well as my work on a book about society at war in its truthful manifestations. The book documents reality and speaks to the reader about the ethics of our actions in times of crisis.”
